The last 30 years have been good for both countries. The Japanese appreciate industriousness and perseverance of Poles. Japan is planning further investments in Poland in the field of energy or innovation, said Akio Miyajima, Japan’s Ambassador to Poland, during the debate, “The impact of Japanese investments on the development of the Polish economy,” that took place during the Economic Forum in Karpacz.

On 1 February 2019, the Economic Partnership Agreement between the European Union and Japan entered into force. The free trade area has also benefited Poland.

Japan expects to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. The construction of a heat pump factory is one of the big investments of recent years in our country. The Japanese plan to spend PLN 1.4 billion on the investment.

Today, we are selective in looking at proposals for cooperation with companies. We primarily focus on quality jobs and the added value brought by business. We are strengthening cooperation with Japan as their investments are based on modern technologies, said Waldemar Buda, Minister of Development and Technology.

The jobs are of high quality, translating into the acquisition of corporate and technological competences that will be used in the Polish economy for many years to come. We support Japanese investments and are heavily involved in their development, added Waldemar Buda.

Grzegorz Słomkowski, Board Member of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, referred to economic missions to Japan. The opportunity to learn about trade customs and attend the country’s trade fairs or industry meetings is an important aspect of cooperation. We make every effort to maintain direct contact with business partners, he emphasised.
