„Poland has made great progress in the area of energy safety and has gone much further than many other countries which speak more loudly about this issue,” said Minister of Treasury Aleksander Grad in Krynica during the 'Energy safety: from strategic ideas to business solutions' panel. Participants of the panel, including representatives of the Ministry of Treasury, Regional Development, and fuel companies, talked about three dimensions of energy politics. Minister Grad mentioned not only PGNiG investments in gas warehouses and Eastern lines being handed over to PSE Operator, but also the building of the LNG terminal in the city of Świnoujście, which are to make Poland independent from Eastern gas supplies. „The project of building two nuclear power stations is also connected with energy safety,” Grad emphasised. „Moreover, we cannot forget about privatisation and thinking about energy safety in three dimensions: strategic, political and business. If there is coherence and common sense in these three areas, then every year we will be closer to realising the idea of energy safety,” the Minister of Treasury added.

„We are thinking about new projects which will completely change the way the Polish gas map looks: the border crossings with Slovakia and Lithuania. The project with Denmark is also at a very advanced stage,” said Jan Chadam, president of Gaz System, which now, via its special vehicle, is building an LNG terminal in the city of Świnoujście.

Adam Zdziebło, Secretary in the Ministry of Regional Development, admitted that projects regarding energy safety are a new thing from the perspective of European programs. With almost 68 billion Euro which Poland can use we assign 2.5 billion Euro to the power sector.
