It was discussed yesterday in Krynica, during the panel „Overcoming the Crisis – the Small and Medium Business as the Engine of the National Economy Development”.
– The problems of the world economy started from the banks and financial institutions that were saved from fall by the governments. Smaller companies should also receive such support – said Wiktor Jermakov, the chairman of the commission in charge of the support of the small and medium business of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Jermakov added that in Russia the support to this economy sector within the last years grew by 3.5 times. The aid concerns not only various unreturnable financial grants, but also the systemic solutions, especially taking over of the risks connected with the credit agreements by means of provision of various guarantees.
The experts agreed that small and medium enterprises are the foundation of every economy structure – in our region they compose on average over 90% of all the companies. Under these market circumstances, they should be much more open to get associated in the industry organisations and clusters in order to fight for their interests more efficiently. – Their priority should be even more intense focusing on implementation of innovations and export promotion. Then, the crisis can even strengthen them – said Wladimir Skvorcov, the president of the Russian International Investment and Industrial Group.
