The Lisbon Treaty has dramatically changed the way of thinking about and perceiving the future of the European integration. A lively discussion about the new order in the community has already been held for quite a long time, and the first months of the treaty’s binding force have made it even more animated. The new way of thinking about the European Union does not only refer to the political sphere, but also very important economic issues: economic stability, energy security, the future of public finance. Hence, many discussions how to stimulate the economy recovering slowly from the deep crisis.

The Economic Forum in Krynica has always had an important voice in the debate about the future of Europe. The annual meeting this year, its size and the rank of guests prove that this voice has been especially important, and the echoes of Krynica’s discussions reverberate not only in entire Europe, but also far beyond its borders. Everyone, who is today in Krynica must admit that the concept of the Forum has resisted the crisis. Not only the economic aspects, but continuously growing variety and versatility of experiences, views and opinions presented at the debates in Krynica.
