Experts emphasise that the long-term strategy of CSR means company investment, just as in the case of expansion of production capacity. Therefore, although at times of worse economic condition, the tasks should be more and more often executed and on the basis of this concept the crisis limits the available measures.
- Times are bad, but this is not the moment to retreat. This should be the period of fast development of the CSR – said Ceila Moore, the CSR director at IBM EMEA. The economy slump period needs new objectives of the CRS. – The crisis caused not only financial problems, but also limited the degree of trust not only to banks, but also to international corporations. This trust must be rebuilt – says Andrew Friars, partner at the Polish branch of PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
In the opinion of Ireneusz Węgłowski, Vice-President of Orbis in our region, education and making people aware what the CSR is are still necessary. – In Ukraine such actions are still associated with charity or activity done by companies for the benefit of their employees in Soviet Union times – says Marcus Stober from SCP Company, a consulting firm.
